Do you need to request an Absentee Ballot?

 

In order to avoid lines and risk infection during the corona virus pandemic, you are allowed to vote via Absentee Ballot in the state of Alabama. If you wish to request an Absentee Ballot, follow the simple steps below:

Step 1:

Register for an Absentee Ballot on the Secretary of State’s website: https://www.sos.alabama.gov/alabama-votes/voter/absentee-voting.

Step 2:

Read the information on this page and then scroll down and click the “Absentee Ballot Application” and that will take you to the application!

Step 3:

As your reasoning for requesting a ballot, our Secretary of State, John Merrill, has asked everyone to just check the box labeled ” I have a physical illness or infirmity which prevents my attendance at the polls.” and they will know that you’re requesting one so that you don’t have to risk getting the Coronavirus.

Step 4:

Once you receive your Absentee Ballot in the mail, please make sure you complete it before the deadline of 5th day prior to the election: July 9th 2020.
